Young Voices Lead the Way at Kinrara Fest

The Kinrara Youth Festival 2025 was successfully organised by a group of current and former interns of Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han, showcasing the energy, creativity, and leadership potential of local youths.

Ng said the festival not only celebrated youth involvement but also acted as a platform for young people to combine their strengths, talents, and ideas into one dynamic event.

Organising committee chairman Lee Jun Xian shared that around 20 interns came together to coordinate the festival. “We gained valuable experience throughout the process, and this event proved that youths are more than capable of handling large-scale programmes,” he said.

Ng added that the festival was designed to give young people opportunities to highlight their abilities. “For too long, we have misunderstood our youth. Many assume they only spend time in their rooms playing games, but this proves they can achieve so much more,” he said, emphasising that the process of organising was just as important as the event itself.

Held at Taman Wawasan Recreational Park in Puchong, Selangor, the festival featured a lively bazaar with 36 vendors offering handmade crafts, clothing, and food and beverages. As night fell, the atmosphere came alive with a fire dance and campfire, culminating in a live band performance that carried the celebration past midnight.

The event was attended by Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) Zone 16 councillor Lee Jen Uyin, Zone 10 councillor Ng Seow Chen, MBSJ Penggerak Belia Selangor (PeBS) central chairman Melvin Chan Weng Hong, and Zone 16 PeBS chairman Venice Ho Yuen Yu.
