Yeo Bee Yin Welcomes Twin Boys, Expands Family to Five Sons

Puchong** — Member of Parliament for Puchong, Yeo Bee Yin, has joyfully announced the arrival of her twin baby boys, bringing her total number of children to five.

In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on 23 March, Yeo revealed that the twins were born on 14 March at 35 weeks. The babies are monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twins—identical twins who share a single placenta but develop in separate amniotic sacs, a condition that can pose additional challenges during pregnancy.

Writing creatively from the twins’ perspective, Yeo shared that carrying them was significantly more demanding compared to her previous pregnancies, especially at the age of 42. Despite the higher risks associated with MCDA pregnancies, she expressed gratitude that the entire journey progressed smoothly without major complications.

The twins were described as eager to meet the world, arriving slightly earlier than full term but in good health. Yeo emphasized her appreciation, noting that both babies were born healthy, calling the experience a blessing for her family.

Yeo, who married Lee Yeow Seng in March 2019, welcomed her first child in March 2020 while serving as Malaysia’s Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change. Since then, she has balanced her political responsibilities with raising her growing family.

Following the announcement, prominent political figure Lim Guan Eng extended his congratulations, praising Yeo and celebrating the expansion of her family. In a lighthearted message, he applauded her for now being a mother to five boys and wished her a speedy recovery.

The news has been warmly received by the public, with many Malaysians taking to social media to share their well wishes and admiration for Yeo’s strength and dedication both as a leader and a mother.
