SUBANG JAYA: A foreigner was killed in a hit-and-run incident while crossing Jalan Puchong Utama 1 early this morning.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the accident occurred at 5.30am, when the victim, a 24-year-old Myanmar woman, was pushing her bicycle across the road from right to left on her way to work.

"A motorcycle, the make and registration number of which have yet to be identified, struck the victim and flung her onto the adjacent road.

“She sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.
Wan Azlan said that the body was sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
Members of the public with any information regarding the incident are urged to contact the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
