Residents and motorists in Bandar Puteri Puchong may notice ongoing tree maintenance works along Jalan Laman Putri 2 as part of a larger initiative to manage overgrown trees and improve public safety.
The project, carried out by Subang Jaya City Council, involves pruning large trees and removing selected species, including Khaya and wild trees, that have been identified as requiring attention. According to local authorities, the trees along the road have grown significantly over time, making maintenance necessary to ensure safer conditions for road users and nearby residents.
The works are funded through a special RM5 million allocation dedicated to tree maintenance across several neighbourhoods in Puchong. In addition to Jalan Laman Putri 2, the programme also covers areas around Bandar Puteri, Puchong Jaya, and Bandar Kinrara.
To facilitate the maintenance works, certain sections of Jalan Laman Putri 2 have been temporarily closed, with traffic cones and safety measures put in place to guide motorists. The exercise is expected to continue until the end of November.
The initiative aims to reduce risks posed by overgrown branches, particularly during heavy rain and strong winds, while helping to maintain a safer and more pleasant environment for the community.
