Topping out marks progress for COVO in 16 Sierra township

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 24): IOI Properties Group Bhd marked a construction milestone with the topping out of COVO on Sept 19, which is its first transit-oriented development in the 16 Sierra township in Puchong South.

The RM367 million COVO features 601 serviced apartment units across a 38-storey high-rise (Tower A) and a low-rise residential block (Tower B). It is located just 100m from the 16 Sierra MRT station, connected by a covered walkway.

In a statement on Sept 23, group chief operating officer Teh Chin Guan said: “As we mark this milestone, I would like to thank all our business partners, our esteemed buyers and Team IOI for their collaborative efforts in making our vision for COVO a reality. This topping out underscores IOIPG’s commitment to timely delivery as we continue to build vibrant, liveable townships and developments across Malaysia, Singapore and the People’s Republic of China.

“COVO’s seamless connectivity to the KL City Centre and KLIA, as well as its strategic location, have seen encouraging response and strong demand for the project with a take-up rate of 65% to date. Tower B is fully sold and Tower A is selling fast, with the project ahead of scheduled construction at 68% progress, with completion on track for May 2027,” he added.

Launched in May 2024, COVO offers units ranging from 550 to 1,130 sq ft in 1+1, three- and four-bedroom configurations. The selling prices start from RM250,000 to RM696,000.

It is IOIPG’s first GreenRE-certified high-rise and includes electric vehicle charging bays and car park access at the doorstep for selected units.

The project recorded a 97.11% score in CIDB’s Safety and Health Assessment System in Construction (SHASSIC).

COVO is part of the 535-acre 16 Sierra township, a master-planned development with green mobility, recreational facilities and proximity to expressways and IOI City Mall.
