Residents in Puchong have more reasons to look forward to spending time outdoors following the completion of upgrading works at Taman Tasik Wawasan, one of the area’s recreational spaces.
According to a report published by The Star on 27 October 2026, Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ) spent RM727,347 on improvements at the park in Pusat Bandar Puchong. The project took nearly seven months to complete.
What Has Been Improved at Taman Tasik Wawasan?
The park’s upgrades were carried out under the “Taman Rakyat Madani” concept, which aims to create more people-friendly public green spaces.
The improvements include:
-
Inclusive playground equipment to support children’s play.
-
Parkour equipment for physical activity and movement.
-
Exercise equipment for visitors who want to work out outdoors.
-
Pedestrian walkways to support movement around the park.
-
A gazebo offering a place for visitors to rest.
-
Solar-powered lighting to improve lighting around the park.
MBSJ also said that a new landmark signboard helps strengthen the park’s identity as a community hub in Pusat Bandar Puchong.
Part of a Wider Recreational Park Upgrade
The Puchong project was one of two recreational park upgrades reported by MBSJ, with the combined expenditure exceeding RM1.07 million. The other project involved a neighbourhood park along Jalan SS15/5G in Subang Jaya.
The improvements aim to provide more inclusive and comfortable public spaces where residents can enjoy leisure activities, exercise and outdoor recreation.
A Useful Addition for Puchong Families
For families, fitness enthusiasts and residents looking for outdoor activities close to home, the upgraded facilities could make Taman Tasik Wawasan a more attractive place to spend time together.
As public parks serve different age groups and community needs, residents can also help maintain these shared spaces by keeping them clean and using the facilities responsibly.
