Sunway Pyramid worker Covid-19 positive

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Pyramid has confirmed the Covid-19 positive status of a Nike store worker.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, it said that the person in question had a history of travel.

Sunway Pyramid further said that the Health Ministry had reached out to those who were in close contact with the Covid-19 patient, who has been ordered to undergo screening and self-quarantine.

“We would like to assure all tenants, vendors and customers that the case is isolated and has been attended to immediately upon identification, together with the affected tenant in full compliance with the Health Ministry’s guidelines,” the shopping centre said in the post on Saturday.

It said deep cleaning, disinfection, as well as sanitisation have been conducted throughout the premises.

It also said that it would continue with the arrangement on a daily basis.

"We have also been working closely with the affected tenant to holistically coordinate the completion of deep sanitisation work, as well as securing timely and accurate updates to address the matter effectively and efficiently.

“The mall and its personnel have been trained to apply the highest standards and protocol for hygiene and sanitation, in accordance with the Health Ministry safety and health guidelines on Covid-19,” it said.

It also encouraged all visitors, tenants and communities to remain calm and vigilant, as well as adopt good personal hygiene practices.
