Selangor Police Urge Greater Community Participation in Crime Prevention at Puchong Briefing

Residents and community leaders in Puchong are being encouraged to take a more active role in preventing crime following a community-policing briefing organised by the Serdang District Police Headquarters.

The briefing was held at the MBSJ Multipurpose Hall on Jalan Belatuk, Puchong, on 7 October 2026. Selangor Deputy Police Chief Mohd Zaini Abu Hassan highlighted the importance of cooperation between residents, community leaders and law enforcement agencies.

1. Community involvement matters

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity and share relevant information with the authorities before problems escalate.

2. Early intervention can prevent bigger problems

Neighbourhood disputes and social conflicts may develop into more serious incidents if they are not addressed early.

3. Stronger cooperation with police

Closer communication between community leaders and police can help authorities identify local safety concerns and respond more effectively.

4. Online scams remain a concern

The deputy police chief also stressed that tackling online scams requires cooperation among the police, financial institutions, telecommunications companies and the public.

:round_pushpin: Why This Matters to Puchong

As Puchong continues to grow, neighbourhood safety depends not only on police enforcement but also on communication and cooperation among residents.

Community groups, residents’ associations and local businesses can help strengthen neighbourhood awareness by sharing verified information and reporting concerns through appropriate official channels.

:speech_balloon: What Do You Think?

Do you think Puchong should organise more community-policing sessions or neighbourhood safety programmes? What safety issues would you most like local authorities to address?
