Selangor Attracts Over RM3 Billion in Potential Foreign Investment

Selangor has attracted more than RM3 billion in potential investment from four foreign investors, according to a report published on 14 October 2026. The investment interest was announced at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026.

Which Industries Are Involved?

The four companies named in the report are:

  • Shenghui Biotechnology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd

  • Galaxy Data Centre

  • XTC New Energy

  • Wuxi Weifu Environmental Catalysts Co. Ltd.

The investment interest was formalised through Letters of Intent facilitated by UOB Malaysia and Invest Selangor. These represent potential investment, not confirmation that the full amount has already been invested.

Why Is This Relevant to Puchong?

Puchong is already part of Selangor’s technology-development landscape through the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park. The state government says it wants to strengthen capabilities in integrated circuit design, electronic design automation and semiconductor intellectual property.

If these investment plans progress, businesses across Selangor could potentially see opportunities in supplier services, technical talent, logistics and supporting industries. However, the report does not specify how much investment, if any, will be directed to Puchong.

What Should Local Businesses Watch?

For Puchong entrepreneurs and business owners, the key things to monitor are whether the Letters of Intent turn into confirmed projects, where the investments will be located, and whether they generate opportunities for local suppliers and skilled workers.

Discussion: Do you think Selangor’s growing technology and foreign-investment activity could create more business opportunities for Puchong, or will the main benefits go to other parts of the state?
