Data Centers and Sustainable Infrastructure
Between 2022 and 2024, Selangor secured RM23.8 billion in investments across 52 data centers (39 currently active and 13 being built). To keep these facilities sustainable, the state launched a “Local Economy Development” program. They also partnered with Amazon Web Services, Air Selangor, Indah Water Konsortium, and Central Water Reclamation to build the Klang Valley’s first reclaimed-water network specifically designed to cool and run data centers.
Global Business Services (GBS)
From 2020 to 2024, 116 companies invested RM8.93 billion into Selangor’s GBS sector, generating 13,582 new jobs. The state also boosted its networking and industry partnerships by participating in the GBS Asean Summit 2025.
Semiconductor Ecosystem Selangor is actively growing its integrated circuit (IC) industry with dedicated parks in Puchong and Cyberjaya.
-
Puchong Hub: This site has already drawn RM2.6 billion in investments and hosts tech companies like MaiStorage, Skyechip, Weeroc, and SensoremTek. It offers highly competitive starting salaries for engineers, ranging from RM5,000 to RM6,000.
-
Cyberjaya Hub: Opened in November 2025, this location consolidates design, testing, and education into one area by housing both the Advanced Chip Testing Centre and the Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia (ASEM).
Aerospace Sector
Currently responsible for 68% of Malaysia’s aerospace manufacturing, Selangor’s goal is to increase that share to 73% by 2030. The main driver for this is the 600-acre Selangor Aero Park (SAP) located at KLIA Aeropolis, co-developed by MBI and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd. SAP is expected to create over 32,000 high-income jobs and reach a gross development value of RM2.3 billion. The park handles OEM, MRO, and component manufacturing, with its first 200 acres already operational.
