Puchong festive gathering recognises work of mental health volunteers

Life Line Volunteers Feted at CNY Appreciation Event

PUCHONG: Volunteers dedicated to providing mental health support to the community were celebrated at a Chinese New Year appreciation event organised by Life Line Association Malaysia.

The gathering took place at the association’s Counselling Education and Training Centre (CETC) in Puchong, Selangor, and was attended by its partners and chairman Choon Lee Meng.

Adding a touch of star power to the occasion, Malaysian actress and Life Line ambassador Yeo Yann Yann shared her CNY wishes in a special video message. In it, she acknowledged the dedication of volunteers who work morning and night shifts to ensure that those facing emotional distress have access to support.

The event also highlighted a significant milestone for the organisation: Life Line has recently extended its counselling service hours to 19 hours daily. The association is progressively working towards its ultimate goal of establishing a 24-hour helpline.

At the same time, Life Line is encouraging the public to support the helpline through small recurring donations, which are tax-deductible.

Those requiring emotional support may contact Life Line’s counselling helpline at 15995. It is available from Monday to Saturday, 6.30am to 1.30am. The free counselling helpline is offered in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin.
