KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 — In the ongoing efforts to address the Puchong landslide aftermath, authorities report that phase two of sheet piling work near the landslide site at Jalan Wawasan 3/9 Taman Wawasan is now halfway complete. According to Serdang district police chief ACP A Anbalagan, a total of 590 sheet piles have been installed, including 375 in the phase one area, aimed at preventing further soil movement. Despite frequent rainfall in recent days, no additional soil movement has been reported in the area, and the contractor anticipates completing the project within the next two weeks, contingent on weather conditions.

The landslide, which occurred on December 16, prompted the evacuation of 29 residents from nine terrace houses in Taman Wawasan Puchong due to safety concerns. The ongoing mitigation efforts and progress in sheet piling work indicate a proactive response to stabilize the affected area and ensure the safety of the residents.
