KUALA SELANGOR, May 26 — The Selangor Saring free health screening programme for state residents will continue in Sabak district this Saturday (May 28).
State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the programme for the Sabak and Sungai Air Tawar state constituencies will be held at Dewan Tun Razak in Sabak Bernam, while for Sungai Panjang it will be held at Dewan Simpang Lima in Sungai Besar.
“Residents around these constituencies are advised to take advantage of this opportunity to find out about their health status. If they have any diseases, we will help them to get follow-up treatment.
“Do not worry if you do not have a smartphone or SELangkah app. The staff will help you register manually,” she said.
Dr Siti Mariah also reminded the community service centres or the elected representatives to organise the programme at suitable places to facilitate the screening process.
“The programme in Ijok was at a school hall. The process went on smoothly because its facilities were complete. We ask all state assemblymen to evaluate the location they have chosen to ensure the programme runs smoothly,” she said.
The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for the implementation of Selangor Saring, focusing on providing free medical checkups for people in the state.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme is expected to benefit some 39,000 people especially those at risk including a family history of ailments, who are overweight and those living an unhealthy lifestyle.
