MBSJ is set to take enforcement action today, 1 October 2026, against access barriers installed at Jalan B/K 3 in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong.
The action follows an earlier deadline given to the Jalan BK3 Residents Association to open its RFID and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) barriers, which the council said were still restricting access to neighbourhood roads after the deadline.
What Residents Should Know
- MBSJ is scheduled to remove the RFID and ANPR barriers today.
- The barriers are located at Jalan BK3/3A and Jalan BK3/3B.
- Residents said some entrances require registered access cards, while non-registered vehicles may need to register at the guardhouse.
- MBSJ said the barriers did not comply with guarded-community guidelines and were obstructing public roads.
- The area recorded 216 homes, including 180 households supporting or paying for the guarded-community scheme and 36 non-members.
- MBSJ also said it would inspect the guardhouse and its TNB connection for the necessary approvals.
The residents association has defended the access system, saying the neighbourhood has two entrances and two exits and that residents can use the restricted entrance if they join the association.
The issue mainly concerns access to public roads and how guarded-community systems operate within residential neighbourhoods.
Would the removal of access barriers make it easier for residents and visitors to move around Bandar Kinrara?
