MBSJ Begins Seizure Operations Over Unpaid Assessment Tax

Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has launched a citywide enforcement operation to recover RM82.6 million in outstanding assessment tax, targeting residential, commercial and industrial properties, as well as vacant land, including those in Puchong.

Property owners who have received a Form E notice are given 14 days to settle their dues before enforcement action is taken. During the operation, owners can avoid having their belongings seized by paying at least 50% of their outstanding assessment tax.

The first phase focused on commercial premises, with MBSJ collecting over RM109,000 in payments on the first day. One business also had a printer seized after failing to make the required payment.

The enforcement exercise will continue in stages across Subang Jaya, Putra Heights, Puchong, Seri Kembangan, Seri Serdang and Kinrara until the end of the year. Property owners facing financial difficulties may apply to pay their arrears in instalments, while seized items can be reclaimed within seven days after meeting the payment requirements and related enforcement costs.
