KUALA LUMPUR: A man who was found dead in Taman Bukit Kuchai, Puchong, yesterday, tested positive for drugs.
Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad said a urine test revealed that the man, believed to have suffered from mental health issues, tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, amphetamine, and methamphetamine.
He added that the body was sent to the Sultan Idris Hospital’s Forensic Department for a post-mortem.
"The post-mortem has just been completed and the cause of death has yet to be determined, pending laboratory analysis.
"However, a urine test conducted on the deceased found that he tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, amphetamine and methamphetamine.
“The case is still being classified as a sudden death,” he said in a statement today.
He also urged anyone with information on the case to come forward to assist in the investigation.
“The public is also advised not to make any speculation regarding the case.”
Yesterday, it was reported that a man, believed to have suffered from mental health issues, was found unconscious before being pronounced dead at the scene along Jalan 23, Taman Bukit Kuchai, Puchong.
Police received an emergency call at 11.05am reporting a man causing a disturbance in the area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that no identification documents were found on the deceased, who was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel.
