Staying closely connected with residents is a core part of my role as the State Assemblyman for Kinrara. Over the past two days, I met with the Bandar Puchong Jaya and Puteri Residents Associations to discuss key developments affecting our community.
Among the updates shared were plans for new bus stops, enhanced pedestrian walkways, improved parks, and the progress of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park in Puchong.
We also addressed public concerns surrounding a proposed development adjacent to the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve. Following in-depth discussions, we reached a clear and shared position on the matter.
Here is the current situation:
-
No development approvals
To date, MBSJ has not received any application for development in the area. Claims that the project has already been approved are therefore inaccurate. -
Environmental and safety concerns
While the land in question is privately owned and not part of the forest reserve, it is located on steep terrain and poses potential environmental and safety risks. These concerns are being taken seriously.
The landowner is presently carrying out a Social Impact Assessment (SIA). I have encouraged residents to actively participate in this process by submitting their views and objections.
I have also engaged MBSJ to closely examine the SIA and ensure the entire process is conducted with full transparency. We will not compromise when it comes to public safety or environmental protection.
This is what we stand for.
This is how we ensure Puchong remains a livable and sustainable place for everyone.
