KL Police Arrest Man for Cat Abuse, OUG Murder Suspect to Be Charged

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 — Police arrested a 43-year-old man in Jalan Klang Lama for allegedly abusing a cat by dragging it with a rope. The arrest was made by Brickfields district police at 6.10 PM yesterday.

A nine-second video of the incident has gone viral on social media over the past two days, drawing widespread reactions. Malaysian Animal Association president Arie Dwi Andika has also offered a reward of RM3,000 to any key witness.

The case is being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code, and a remand order has been obtained to facilitate further investigations.

Meanwhile, Rusdi said the suspect in a case involving the murder of his mother, whose body was stored in a freezer, will be charged in a Kuala Lumpur Court tomorrow.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa revealed that 13 witness statements have been recorded, and the Attorney General’s Chambers has approved a charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The case came to light when the 53-year-old suspect contacted the emergency line at 9 AM from his residence in Taman OUG, complaining of feeling unwell. Upon inspection, police found his mother’s body in a freezer, believed to have been there since 2021.
