A 700-metre stretch along Sungai Bohol in Bandar Kinrara 1, Puchong has become a major illegal dumping site, with construction debris piling up along the riverbank.
The area was supposed to provide residents with a pleasant space for family picnics and leisure, but residents say illegal dumping has been a recurring problem for more than two years.
The rubbish has also raised health and safety concerns, with residents saying the piles of waste can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Banners warning that the area is a dengue hotspot have also been put up.
MBSJ has carried out enforcement and monitoring efforts in the area. CCTV surveillance was installed at one access point, while cleaning works at the riverbank began on 21 July 2026.
Residents have also expressed hope that the riverbank can eventually be restored and transformed into a public park or community space.
For families living around Bandar Kinrara, keeping the area clean is not only about appearance — it could also help create a safer and more enjoyable neighbourhood environment.
