Football clinic marks second anniversary with field upgrades

THE Kinrara Football Clinic is celebrating its second anniversary with plans for significant upgrades to its football field near the junction of Jalan Kinrara 2 and Jalan Kinrara 1 in Bandar Kinrara 2, Puchong, Selangor.

Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the clinic which was launched in October 2022 to nurture football talents within the community had seen a remarkable growth, with the number of participants increasing from about 20 to 70 to date.

Players from all over Puchong have joined the clinic, he said, and the field has become the home ground for Team Selangor Kinrara, comprising players trained at the clinic.

“It is important to upgrade the facilities at the field so the players can train and play safely and comfortably,” he said during a football programme.

The upgrades will include repairing barrier nets and installing new fencing at an estimated cost of RM40,000.

The Kinrara Football Clinic is a joint initiative between Team Selangor and the Football Association of Selangor, offering football training for children aged seven to 17 on Sundays.

The clinic remains open for new registrations.

Ng hopes for the clinic’s continued success, citing the strong support it has received from the community.

Also present at the recreational programme were Petaling District information officer Ruddyansjah M.Hams and Team Selangor Kinrara coach Iewan Mahfuzh Mohd Ayob.

Iewan Mahfuzh revealed plans to form a team to compete in the Selangor League (Liga FAS) within one or two years.

He has selected 18 talented players born in 2011 for this special project and has invited former Selangor players to assist with coaching.

Ruddyansjah encouraged the young players to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.

“This event also emphasises the values of unity and healthy lifestyle,” he said in his speech.

A friendly football competition was held alongside the recreational programme, featuring Team Selangor Kinrara, Team Komuniti Madani Kinrara, and Prime FC Puchong.
