Five Puchong Eateries Ordered to Close Over Hygiene Violations

Five eateries in Taman Perindustrian Puchong Utama have been ordered to temporarily shut down after failing hygiene inspections conducted by Subang Jaya City Council.

The establishments were among 15 food outlets inspected during a joint enforcement operation and received a “Grade D” rating due to unsatisfactory cleanliness standards. Health officers discovered issues including rat droppings, improper food storage practices, poor food handling procedures, and the absence of pest control records.

The affected eateries have been directed to close for 14 days to carry out thorough cleaning and corrective measures. However, they may be allowed to reopen earlier if they successfully pass a follow-up inspection.

During the operation, authorities also issued multiple notices for offences such as employees not wearing aprons or head coverings, failure to install grease traps, dirty premises, and food handlers not receiving anti-typhoid vaccinations.

The inspection covered dozens of business premises along Jalan Utama 2/1 and Jalan Utama 2/2, with enforcement officers identifying various violations related to business licensing, waste management, cleanliness, and compliance with local regulations.

MBSJ said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to improve public hygiene standards, protect consumer health, and ensure businesses within its jurisdiction comply with the required regulations. The council also reminded operators to prioritise cleanliness, maintain proper waste management practices, and adhere to all licensing requirements to avoid enforcement action.
