PETALING JAYA: Six men were arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of having committed a gang robbery at a house in Batu 14, Puchong.

Subang Jaya deputy police chief Fairus Jaafar said they are believed to be among 11 masked men who barged into a house, which was not locked, with parangs and assaulted two men at 12.13am yesterday (Jan 26).

The victims sustained severe injuries from being slashed repeatedly, but are reportedly in stable condition at Serdang Hospital.

“At 8pm yesterday, police arrested six local men aged between 23 and 28 and seized a parang.

“All of them had criminal records, including for drug-related offences,” he said in a statement.

Fairus said the police have obtained a three-day remand order for all the suspects until Jan 29, and are currently hunting down the other suspects.

Previously, a clip from CCTV footage was widely shared on social media, showing the 11 masked men barging into a terrace house.

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing hurt during a robbery and Section 326 of the same code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a weapon.
