The fire incident occurred at 3:55 am today in the commercial area of Uda Ma, Puchong, Selangor. Two two-story buildings were involved.
Upon receiving the report, the Fire and Rescue Department immediately dispatched personnel to the scene for rescue operations. The fire was eventually extinguished, and fortunately, there were no reported injuries or casualties.
A spokesperson for the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department stated that the fire originated in a store selling chemical and cleaning supplies, resulting in a 60% destruction of the store. Subsequently, the flames spread to the neighboring restaurant, causing 20% damage.
He mentioned that after inspection, no hazardous materials were found at the scene, and as a result, the Hazardous Materials Special Rescue Team (Hazmat) was not called in. The Fire and Rescue Department is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
