Puchong residents finally have a major indoor sports facility right in our neighborhood! The brand-new Arena MBSJ Puchong was officially opened yesterday by Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Amirul Azizan alongside Selangor EXCO member and Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han.
Here are the key highlights and details about the new venue:

Location: Jalan Indera, Pusat Bandar Puchong (spanning 4.13 acres).

Total Cost: RM22.2 million.

Facilities Available: 3 multipurpose indoor courts and spectator seating area suitable for sports matches and community events.

Official SUKMA 2026 Venue: The arena has been selected to host the sepaktakraw events for the upcoming Malaysia Games (SUKMA) happening from August 15 to August 24, 2026.

Public Bookings: Once the SUKMA events wrap up, the venue will be fully open for public bookings.
Construction & Future Phase 3 Extension: The project originally broke ground in November 2022 and faced delays when the initial contractor went bankrupt. MBSJ subsequently appointed a new contractor last year to rescue and complete Phase 2. Looking ahead, MBSJ plans to add a public swimming pool at the back of the arena under Phase 3. Land assessment studies will begin in 2027, with construction targeted to start in 2028.
Importance of Puchong:
For a long time, major MBSJ sports complexes were mainly concentrated in Subang Jaya and Seri Kembangan. With Puchong’s population growing rapidly, this new venue fills a huge gap for proper indoor sports courts in Kinrara and Seri Serdang. It gives locals another great place for leisure, sports training, and family activities alongside existing spots like Taman Wawasan Recreation Park.
