Police have confirmed that a bomb threat reported at Columbia Asia Hospital Puchong in Bandar Puteri was a false alarm after an extensive search found no explosives or suspicious objects.
According to Serdang district police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad, the district police headquarters received a call at 2.54pm from a man claiming he had received information about a bomb threat at the hospital.
Following the report, the Police Bomb Disposal Unit and K9 Detection Unit conducted a thorough inspection inside and outside the hospital building. Authorities confirmed that no explosive devices or suspicious items were found.
Police have since launched an investigation to identify the individual responsible for making the false bomb threat. The case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code, which relates to criminal intimidation by anonymous communication.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Serdang District Police Headquarters at 03-8074 2222 or visit the nearest police station.
