A babysitter has been charged with the murder of a seven-month-old baby boy at a nursery in Bandar Kinrara, a case that has shocked many parents and residents in the community.
The accused, a 28-year-old woman, appeared before the Magistrates’ Court in Petaling Jaya, where she acknowledged understanding the charge after it was read out. However, no plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
She is accused of causing the death of baby Muhammad Eiden Faheem at a nursery located in the Kinrara Commercial Unit area earlier this month. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries severe penalties including the death sentence or long-term imprisonment upon conviction.
The incident has sparked concern among parents regarding child safety and supervision at childcare centres. Many are calling for stricter monitoring and enforcement to ensure nurseries maintain proper standards and provide a safe environment for children.
The court has fixed a later date for further mention of the case while investigations continue.
