Azmin Announces New Selangor Bersatu Leadership After Removal of Two Division Chiefs

Selangor Bersatu chief Azmin Ali has unveiled several new appointments to the party’s state leadership following the dismissal of two division heads.

Azmin said the changes were made under Clause 16.5 of the Bersatu constitution, with Rosnizan Ahmad named the new secretary, Jumiah Jonet as treasurer, Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad as information chief, and Noorazley Yahya as communications and new media director.

He said the refreshed leadership is expected to energise the party, enhance engagement with the public, and strengthen efforts to communicate Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional’s vision.

“Selangor Bersatu remains committed to expanding its outreach through more robust information and communication programmes to better convey the party’s aspirations,” he said in a statement.

This restructuring follows the sacking of Sepang division chief Suhaimi Ghazali and Puchong division chief Shukor Mustaffa, who were found to have violated Clause 9.1.4 of the Bersatu constitution as well as the party’s code of ethics.

Suhaimi, who had also been serving as Selangor Bersatu secretary, and Shukor, previously the state information chief, were investigated after a complaint and ordered to attend a disciplinary hearing on Oct 30. They have 14 days to appeal.

Their removal adds to a string of disciplinary actions within Bersatu, including the recent sacking of Supreme Council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan and the suspension of Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal. Four other division leaders from Hang Tuah Jaya, Pengerang, Ipoh Timur, and Ampang were also dismissed.
