4 cops were caught consuming ketum at Taman Tan Yew Lai house in Puchong

Four policemen from the Brickfields district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur were arrested for allegedly consuming ketum at a residence in Taman Tan Yew Lai. The Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) raided the house around 2:15 am, resulting in the apprehension of the officers.

Three were from the Petaling police station, while one was from the serious crimes investigation unit, D9 Brickfields. Ages of the suspects range from 25 to 50. Investigations are underway under Section 30 (3) of the Poison Act 1952.

City police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid confirmed the arrests, stating that the officers have been remanded for further investigation. Disciplinary actions, including suspension, may follow if they are found guilty.
