IOI Properties Group Berhad (IOIPG) celebrated the topping out ceremony for COVO, its first transit-oriented development project in the 535-acre 16 Sierra township in Puchong South, recently.
COVO is a modern community offering 601 units of serviced apartments in a 38-storey residential tower (Tower A) and low-rise residential blocks (Tower B), as well as direct covered walkway access to the MRT 16 Sierra station.
IOIPG Group Chief Operating Officer, Teh Chin Guan said that his party would like to thank all business partners, buyers and the IOI team for their cooperation in realising the company’s vision for COVO.

COVO is a modern community offering 601 units of serviced apartments in a 38-storey residential tower (Tower A) and low-rise residential blocks (Tower B), as well as direct covered walkway access to the MRT 16 Sierra station.
“This achievement reflects IOIPG’s commitment to on-time delivery while continuing its livable development efforts across Malaysia, Singapore and China.
“COVO’s seamless connectivity to Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), as well as its strategic location, has seen it receive an encouraging response with a take-up rate reaching 65 percent to date.
“Tower B has been sold out while Tower A has seen rapid sales. Construction progress is now 68 percent, ahead of schedule, and is expected to be completed by May 2027,” he said in a statement.
According to him, COVO, which will be launched in May 2024, features units ranging in size from 550 to 1,130 square feet with 1+1, 3 and 4 bedroom layout options.
“The open living, dining and kitchen design and lower starting price are perfect for young professionals, newlyweds and growing families.
“Selected units also enjoy direct access to parking right in front of the main door like landed residences,” he said.
COVO also highlights good MRT connectivity with a travel time of less than 40 minutes to Kuala Lumpur City Centre or KLIA.
It is also IOIPG’s first high-rise project to receive GreenRE certification and is equipped with electric vehicle (EV) charging bays to promote green mobility, thus demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable development.
This development was also recognised by the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB) for its safety and health performance, with a score of 97.11 per cent in the Construction Safety and Health Assessment System (SHASSIC) benchmark.
As part of the 16 Sierra township, COVO benefits from a comprehensively planned township master plan, particularly its exclusive position as a plateau with clear views from Lookout Point 16 Sierra offering breathtaking sunset panoramas.
In addition, the township features various recreational facilities and place-making initiatives including the 7.2-acre Central Park with attractions such as a pet-friendly zone, rainbow garden, community garden, mini skate park, sand play area, basketball and futsal courts.
Not to be missed, Amigo Clubhouse provides exclusive facilities for residents such as a gymnasium, fitness room, main swimming pool, water slide, tipping buckets and badminton court.
Amigo Social Club offers four pickleball courts, 2nd Round Cafe and a parklet as a mini-oasis for residents and visitors to relax in a peaceful atmosphere.
The township’s strategic location also offers easy access to the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), Maju (MEX) and Damansara-Puchong (LDP), making it easily connected to Putrajaya, Puchong and Kuala Lumpur.
