KUALA LUMPUR: Villagers of Kampung Tengah in Puchong, Selangor, are urging the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) to provide them with a door-to-door garbage collection service.
They say they are forced to dispose their garbage at a collection area 200m away, despite having to pay the house assessment tax.
Nelly Kamal, 32, said MPSJ should provide them with the door-to-door collection service with the money from the assessment tax.
"It is troublesome to carry our garbage to the dumpster every day.
“As taxpayers, we have the right to receive the same door-to-door garbage collection service just like other areas in the municipality,” she said.
ACTIONLINE:
MPSJ said it was reviewing the suitability of implementing a door-to-door garbage collection service at the village.
Its corporate and strategic management deputy director, Azfarizal Abdul Rashid, said the narrow and poor condition of roads in the village prevented the council from providing door-to-door collection service.
