# Prihatin: 50% discount on electric bill

(Petaling Jaya, 22th) Deductions based on electricity usage rates per month began in April this year.

Below Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package (PRIHATIN), government announced on _27 March 2020_ that discount begin on **April 1 till September 30 2020**. The discount rate is between _2% to 50%_ depending on the amount of electricity used.

| Discount (%) | Usage (kWh) | Bill (RM) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 50 | \< 200 | \< 43.60 |
| 25 | 201 - 300 | 43.70 - 77.00 |
| 15 | 301 - 600 | 77.10 - 231.80 |
| 2 | \> 600 | \> 231.90 |

For example, if the monthly electricity consumption is 300kWh then you will get a 25% discount on electric bill.

# RM77.00 - RM19.25 = RM57.75

Electric bill - _(Discount: 25% x RM77)_ = Final bill

Therefore, from April to September, if the monthly electricity consumption is kept below 200kWh, you will enjoy a _50% discount_ for electric bill.

no lo 🤧 more over the meter reading halted during MCO and using estimation billing, shock and mislead me that I have forgotten switch off the air conditioner. 😅
