This is on top of the RM5,000 cash aid for victims who suffered total losses announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim yesterday.

The Puchong parliamentary office will provide immediate cash assistance of RM1,000 for families in two villages who suffered total losses due to yesterday’s gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights.
Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin said her office would begin distributing the aid today to the residents of Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru and Kampung Tengah.
“For victims still in their hometowns, we will arrange a follow-up distribution,” she said in a Facebook post today.
“For victims in other categories, we will distribute cash assistance as soon as we receive the latest verified data.”
Yeo added that her office had set aside RM10,000 for an emergency fund if further assistance is required.
Separately, Bernama reported that the education ministry would provide RM1,000 in aid to staff, teachers, and students affected by the gas fire.
Minister Fadhlina Sidek said 107 teachers and students had been identified as affected, with four still in hospital.
“Ministry staff and students are among those impacted by this incident, including children from 23 schools in the area, so the ministry is taking full responsibility for their welfare,” she was quoted as saying.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced immediate cash aid of RM5,000 for victims who suffered total losses, with an additional RM2,500 each for over 100 individuals whose homes were partially damaged by the fire.
The fire, which broke out yesterday morning along Jalan Putra Harmoni, engulfed a 500m section of a gas pipeline.
A total of 399 vehicles were affected, with 225 burnt and 174 damaged. Some 538 residents from 120 families have also been forced to seek shelter at two temporary relief centres.
